Safestor® is low cost storage insurance that covers loss or damage for your stored goods from major perils.

Safestor covers loss or damage caused by:

  • Fire
  • Smoke
  • Lightning
  • Vermin
  • Hurricane
  • Tornado
  • Wind
  • Flood*
  • Hail
  • Earthquake
  • Building collapse
  • Burglary
  • Vandalism
  • Leaking water
  • *Flood coverage is included in all new U.S. Safestor policies. If you wish to add it to an existing Safestor policy you can do so in your storage account management at any time. Flood coverage is not available in Canada.

Items not covered by Safestor:

  • Jewelry
  • Financial records
  • Currency
  • Deeds & documents
  • Works of art
  • Antiques
  • Securities
  • Stamps
  • Watches
  • Precious stones
  • Furs (or garments trimmed with fur)
  • Motorized vehicles (licensed or not, such as motor scooters, ATVs, motorcycles, and/or lawnmowers)
  • No coverage for loss caused by or resulting from war or climatic conditions like rust or mildew
